We keep it simple: we collect only what we need to connect you with your community, we never sell your data to third parties, and you can delete everything anytime.

1. Information We Collect

When you register and interact on Panchayat, we collect only necessary operational details:

Account Profile: Your chosen display name, optional profile picture, and bio provided during registration.
Community Jurisdiction: Your self-declared State, District, Block, and Gram Panchayat. We do not continuously track GPS coordinates in the background.
Content & Interactions: Text posts, photos, short Viraal videos, community polls, and Sabha discussion comments you willingly create.
Authentication Credentials: Your mobile phone number (for OTP verification) or email address. All authentication tokens are handled securely via Supabase Auth with encrypted sessions.
Notification Tokens: A device push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) used exclusively to notify you of village notices, poll results, and comments.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to deliver the hyperlocal community experience:

To display feeds and discussions corresponding to your Gram Panchayat and block.
To verify official roles (Gram Pradhan, Panchayat Secretary, Administrator).
To deliver critical public safety announcements and Sabha notices.
To prevent fraud, impersonation, hate speech, and spam.

We will NEVER sell your personal information, phone number, or community activity to advertisers or data brokers.

3. Data Security & Storage

Your data is stored in production Supabase PostgreSQL databases protected by strict Row Level Security (RLS) policies. Only authenticated members can view permitted local community records. Anonymous visitors cannot harvest private user profiles or device tokens.

4. Your Right to Delete Your Account

You hold total sovereignty over your digital identity. You may request account deletion at any time directly through the Panchayat Mobile App under Settings → Delete Account or by sending a request to our administrative team.

Upon account deletion, your profile, authentication credentials, uploaded media, votes, and comments are permanently purged from active production databases in accordance with our deletion protocols.
